The CPD program is designed to increase the knowledge, skills and professionalism of those working in the real estate and business broking industries. The aim of the program is to increase consumer protection and promote consumer confidence in the real estate industry.
The CPD program is part of the licensing framework and requires that all real estate and business broking agents, and from 1 January 2009, all sales representatives and property managers comply with the CPD program. The requirements of the CPD program are prescribed by legislation.
The CPD Program
The CPD program operates on an annual cycle based on the calendar year (the CPD cycle). In each 12–month CPD cycle, participants are to accumulate a total of ten points of CPD activities. Of these ten points, three points are to be earned from the mandatory activities and the remaining seven points from the elective CPD activities.
